“KKAWF’s Participation in NCRC Consultation on Preventing Drug Use in Educational Institutions”

The National Commission on the Rights of the Child released its report on Preventing Drug Use in Educational Institutions in Pakistan in August 2025. The report is based on National consultations held in Islamabad at which Karim Khan Afridi Welfare Foundation -KKAWF was a key participant. The Consultations were an outcome of the increasing prevalence of drug use among children in Pakistan’s educational institutions which is a matter of urgent concern that demands immediate and collective attention of all stakeholders.
KKAWF is deeply committed to empower youth with awareness and evidence- based education to make healthy life choices and choose to be drug free.
KKAWF is pleased that many of the recommendations put forth in the NCRC report are those policy recommendations called for by KKAWF.
The consultations brought together policymakers, education leaders, civil society, and experts. KKAWF’s representation underscored our ongoing commitment to working collaboratively with national institutions for safeguarding children and youth.
